I just acquired Office 2021. I noticed a blank line above the ribbon. Marked in red on the screenshot.
What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Normal spacing between the Quick Access Toolbar (and document name/title - hidden to the right because of the number of icons in the QAT) (above), and Menu titles/headings (below)

EDIT On second glance, I'd be editing the QAT. Why so many icons? Not intended to duplicate of the ordinary menu structure below, and defeats the purpose ("quick action") if you have to take extra steps to scroll off the end to find additional icons

(Sometimes I have what I want on the QAB and can close the ribbon altogether)

You can create new custom tabs and buttons (Not QAB) and add buttons to current tabs in the settings.
If you have a particular set of functions you commonly like to use, you could manipulate the ribbon by adding and do away with the QAB

Show, hide, reset, or share your ribbon, and add, remove, hide, or change order of tabs.

If application space is as important to you as it is to me, you can choose the taskbar option to "Hide the Taskbar". For me, I gain three whole lines of additional vertical space by choosing this option. If I ever need the taskbar, I simply tap the Windows Key or move the cursor to the bottom of the screen.

I'll try to remove that share button MS forced on us and I never use.and maybe the ribbon could then move up a little.
