While publisher is not supplied any more in Office LTSC 2024 the version from Office 2021 works and can call up EXCEL etc (via insert object)
It's not a program I use but loads have expressed disappointment at Ms dropping it.So it would seem that if you want to use office LTSC 2024 (it has quite a bit of things only added to Office/365 and not to previous stand alone versions of Office 2016,2019,2021) you don't have to lose publisher- just install only that program from your office suite for 2021 or earlier.
However you will need to install publisher from 2019 though to have full functionlity for adding excel spreadsheets directly to publisher and having updating within publisher -- the final version of publisher opens EXCEL but doesn't transfer the data automatically --(Powerpoint and Word still work as before though).
I'll create a VM later with Office 2019 to see how it *Should* work and then see what happens with Office LTSC 2024. I've got a VL edition from work for Office 2024 so no trouble trying a load of VM's.
(BTW those who think VM's are a waste of time or too complicated --this is a perfect scenario for testing this type of stuff without hosing up your main running machine or requiring endless backups and restores).
