Solved One W11 machine does not show the LCU folder

W11 22621.1194. This machine does not show the LCU folder in the "default" location. How would I get it to show like my other W11 machines.?? [Typically show above the packages folder. ]

As with @Berton I do not have the LCU folder in that location

You can delete the Last Cumilative update with command prompt.

Just open command prompt administrator, and type:

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Your other machines must still be on 21H2. With 22H2 Microsoft stopped using an LCU folder.

Posibly because their telemetry told them the first thing we all do after a CU is delete it? :wink:

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

On Windows 11... once you delete the LCU folder, it never comes back. :-)

I noticed, a while back... that I had no LCU folder either.
I was perplexed, until I went back to my (dirty deeds done to W11 notes), and saw that I had deleted the LCU folder right before I made my first Windows 11 backup.

After I upgraded my System One from 21H2 to 22H2 I set up a copy of its old 21H2 as a native boot .vhdx so that I could dual boot between 22H2 and 21H2 in case I needed to answe support questions for 21H2.

Here is my system One running 21H2, and again after the upgrade to 22H2.

Thank you for that! Yes that is the answer, my 21H2 machines still have the LCU folder and the one I was complaining about is 22H2. Advantages/disadvantages of updating. o_O
