Hi,

According to this post, since March 2021, OneDrive and OneDrive for Business have a 250GB file size upload/download limit.

On my QNAP NAS, I created a one-way sync job to upload a 118GB file but the job terminated with an error that the file size limit was exceeded. Has anyone successfully sync'd or uploaded such a large file to OneDrive for Business? I'm just looking to confirm if, indeed, the upload file size limit is 250GB for OneDrive for Business.

Thanks!

That is out of date.

MS increased the size to 250 GB a couple of years ago.
Yeah, it is just so weird that the QNAP backup app is failing with that error because I can't imagine that the file size restriction would be coded inside the app itself.

Uggh, this is so annoying because I really want to switch to using OneDrive for my backups.

If it was me, I would backup data using Macrium Reflect, setting maximum image file size to say 30 GB (so you would have 10 images for 300 GB of data}. This avoids maximum size limits, save space as images are compressed.

No, I specifically do not want to split into multiple files; I want to keep things as I have them now with Google Cloud Storage. Moreover, I have numerous other backup files for which I have no interest in re-creating into multiple files.

But after further research, I found out that the issue is on the QNAP side and not with OneDrive. I found this article on the QNAP site that documents the cloud limitations.

Thanks!
