General Open Win+X Quick Link Menu in Windows 11

  • Staff
Start.png

This tutorial will show different ways on how to open the Win+X Quick Link menu in Windows 11.

The Win+X Quick Link menu (aka: Power User menu) is a pop-up menu from the Start button that includes shortcuts of common management, configuration, and other power user tools for Windows.

Starting with Windows 11 build 22533, the Win+X Quick Link menu will now say Installed apps in the menu instead of Apps & Features.

Starting with Windows 11 build 22593, if Windows Terminal is installed the Win+X menu will include an entry for Terminal, and in cases where Windows Terminal is uninstalled it will display Windows PowerShell.

If needed, you can click/tap on an empty area on the taskbar to close the Win+X Quick link menu without having to click/tap on a menu item.

Contents

  • Option One: Open Win+X Quick Link Menu using Keyboard Shortcut

Have you noticed, though, that you cannot use the KB shortcuts for the items?

As in: Win + X then M would open Device Manager in Win10. Win + X then K would open Disk management in Win 10. Neither work in 11.

It's irking me. lol.

Yeah. hand in hand - those underlined shortcuts were what allowed that keyboard use.

Wonder if there is a hidden registry trick to enable underlined shortcuts (assuming Win11 still can use them)?

Brink, thanks again for the suggestion but it didn't work.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe a reset or clean install of Windows 11 will work better for you when you have the time.
