Hi folks

Got OPENVPN working on a remote server

How do I create a logon screen and allow clients to access some directories on the VPN. Ideally I'd like some sort of desktop too like Windows.

This should be the easy bit -- but I'm stuck. Note the VPN is 100% on my own server - no commercial VPN's or apps involved.

Any help greatly appreciated. Windows clients are W10 and W11 pro machines. OpenVPN with appropriate self generated certificates all workin (as far as I can tell) OK.

Cheers

Is OpenVPN the OpenVPN Access Server one?
Client won't do that.

Access Server Admin Guide Introduction | OpenVPN
Hi there
OpenVPN Access server is a commercial product -- I'm just looking for a method to connect a remote client say in Belgium to my home server in Iceland and be able to access apps on it such as Netflix / Ms Office etc. OpenVPN server itself works fine -- connect shows IP of 185.x.x.x which is correct - but I need something on the client front end !!!!!!

I want something like this for starters - but I'm getting lost half way through . Note the Client is W11 (Pro) laptop, the server is Linux running openVPN.

I am testing also locally over a LAN so that should be easy enough. For Internet remote testing I can create a phone 5G access point which "replicates" an Internet connection outside the LAN.

BTW these projects are very addictive -- it's amazing how much time goes by. -- Much better than watching rubbish XMAS or Black Friday TV sales ads !!

Cheers
