My front CPU fan has to sit on top of my RAM, unfortunately. I don't know how much air draw I actually have there.

But speaking of upgrades. I forgot to post it, but I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It is an improved CPU retention bracket. The idea is that the original Intel bracket warps. This apparently doesn't warp and maintains better contact to the CPU.

Thermaltake bracket.webp

I am very pleased with the results. My idle temp has gone from 45 -49 C down to 34 C. My max is 88 C where it used to be over 100 and I could practically smell it.

I would suggest this to anyone with a 13th or 14th generation Intel chip (but maybe not an i9)

Hi, Why not an i9? I have used it with both i9 13900KS and i9 14900K with good results.

I was thinking that it might get too hot with an air cooler. I think a lot of people with an i9 or the newest generation have water cooling. At least that's my assumption, anyway.

I am always prepared to be corrected.

If I am reading you correctly - you can still make an AIO cooled PC cooler with a contact frame. Cooler is always better :-)

Most certainly. I wouldn't have expected a contact frame to work with an AIO. I learned something today.

Worked fine on mine with a contact frame and a waterblock.
