OS
Windows 11
Hello all,

I'm based in China and just bought a new Laptop - a Xiaomi Redmi Pro 14 RedmiBook Pro 14立即购买-小米商城 (MX 450)

The Windows installed is Chinese language only (it allowed me to set up an internet connection when navigating through setup in Chinese)

I have tried installing a fresh version of Windows 11 from a Bootable USB from the Microsoft Website.

Once installed, all of the 'other devices' in Device Manager show an error - including the network controller (and the touch pad - I had to plug in a mouse to control it).

I've tried updating the drivers, but it says no drivers found. As it's also impossible to connect to the internet, then I can't download any.

Can anyone please help?! Thanks in advance

Unless the phone has a reset feature (normally pressing or holding a particular button/ buttons on start up, or a reset 'hole') which also assumes there is an OS backup on the phone then you will either need to find a friend or friendly shop who can download a reset image (you then need to apply the image somehow) or return the phone to the place of purchase or supplier and request a reset, if it is even possible.
Phones are even more customised than laptops when it comes to hardware and firmware, it is very unlikely Windows will have even basic drivers for most of the hardware involved.
For future reference, if anyone is going to attempt to clean install a devices supplied OS, please check the procedure first and pre download compatible drivers, and if possible create a backup image of the original OS and know how to apply it.
I don't see any other way to proceed, someone else here might be more knowledgeable though.

Apologies for any confusion. It is a Xiaomi Laptop, not a phone!

My apologies, I don't know where I got it in my head that it was a phone. :(
The same applies pretty much though, except the reset process will be different, most PCs are supplied with a factory reset image, normally on a hidden partition, unfortunately in the process of installing Windows yourself you might have removed that factory image. It is still worth looking though, restart Windows by holding SHIFT and clicking restart in the Start Menu, see which options are available to you.
The instructions for resetting the device and the drivers you need will probably be on the manufacturers website, but you need internet to get there. Can you not use a phone to see if there are any guides? You are using this forum somehow.
If you can get the network interface working (ethernet or wireless) then you could possibly use your phone if you have one as a mobile hotspot.

This is the only site I could find for Redmibook drivers. They do not sort by model. Xiaomi has a horrible support site. Mi India

Download the wifi driver from that site using another computer and put it on usb drive. Then install it on your laptop. Once you get internet connection, go to Windows Update and let WU update your drivers. I do not see a touchpad driver listed but maybe WU will find one.
There is a possibility it's that serial io driver listed but the description is so vague I can't tell. Hopefully WU will find all your drivers but if not you will have to use your best judgement on the drivers on that site.

Other than that, the only suggestion I can give is to contact the company Xiaomi Global Community | XIAOMI-MI.com

I found an interesting article dated 5/2/22 while searching for your drivers .
India has seized more than $700 million from one of China’s biggest tech companies after accusing it of moving money out of the country illegally.
