After the last tough session at camp, I’ve been dealing with a tendon issue in my foot. With my team, we decided it was stable enough to still race the two planned indoor competitions. However, after my first race, there was a stronger reaction, and we don’t want to risk it.

I’m using and pushing my body in new ways this year. It’s a fine line, and right now my body is telling me it’s a bit too much.

Thank you all for the amazing support during this transition. I’m sorry it was only one race this winter 🫶🏼

While we are waiting for Fem to come back from injury there are a couple of track news stories.

Abby Steiner is suing puma citing "severe and permanent injuries"

Must be devastating her career ended so young .

Steiner said she started wearing Puma’s shoes in September 2022 for training and competition. Because of improperly manufactured shoes, the suit contends, she developed “severe and permanent injuries resulting in multiple surgeries, rehabilitations and recovery” that ended her competitive career, including competing for the Olympics.

The complaint alleges the mechanism of the shoe changed how the stress of running affected the rest of the body, and that Puma and Mercedes knew the shoes could cause bone stress injuries.

Fem said she will be doing the Fanny games on 21st June. It will be her first compettion at the 2 lap 800m. Probably she will want to get a run or two in before then maybe a diamond league or continental tour event end of May or early June. Depends on how the recovery is going.
