I'm running Office 2021 LTSC and syncing with iCloud. I generally create meetings in Outlook and have had a real good experience syncing to iCloud and my iPhone.

I've created several meetings (some with invited attendees) and I cannot find a way to delete them. I've Googled for the solution and changed the view to a list and right clicked cancel a meeting / delete an appointment etc. without any success. I wonder if there isn't a way to open the PST file and manually delete them ? Thanks in advance for any and all ideas.

Where are you trying to delete from, IOS app or Outlook? Depending on where / how you create the event may mean that you can only get asynchronous deletions (meaning you need to delete from the originating device).

Thank you for responding.

In almost all cases I create the appointment in a local version of Outlook 2021 (not 365) on a Windows 11 PC. Interestingly, when I delete the appointment on an iCloud syncing iPhone it is removed from IOS but it remains in Outlook. I always delete from the PC. This is an intermittent issue but it has happened on several other occasions.

I wasn't able to find a stand alone "tool" that would let me edit the PST file and clean these things out. Something like an autocomplete cleaner I use.

That's just what I'm talking about, if the apps are creating / managing their own records, it can easily get out of sync.

Since you mentioned 365, do you use that as the mail provider? If so, have you tried removing them directly from the email host (outlook.com)

I didn't realize they were creating separate records. That explains a lot. I am using a full install local copy of MS Office Pro Plus 2021 LTSC. Nothing stored anywhere except locally. Mail is Gmail & icloud.

So what happens is that you create a calendar entry, a record, which should get sent to GMAIL to handle. Then everytime you add a new device or SYNC, GMAIL tells that device it has a record available.

I'm guessing one of the devices may not be handling the sync back properly, which in turn causes the inability to delete events that you're seeing.

This is common, so much so that there's a bunch of help articles they write regarding it see Delete an event - iPhone & iPad - Google Calendar Help

I am only using an iCloud calendar syncing to Outlook (local copy). When you create a Gmail address in Outlook it automatically adds a Gmail calendar but I do not write anything to it and it does not sync. So the issue is between iCloud syncing and Outlook.

I googled and read every article on the subject but nothing worked. View calendar in list form etc.
