I'm setting up a new laptop and am thinking seriously of using Outlook instead of Thunderbird due to some really annoying issues I'm having with it. I'm going to try it for a few days and see how I like it.
It did a pretty remarkable job of bringing over my two email accounts and my address book from Thunderbird, even though I'm not sure how it did that since I didn't do any kind of export/import process. If anyone can explain how that works, I'd be interested.
My real question though is about the Calendar. It doesn't seem to have copied over anything from my Thunderbird calendar so I'm having to put my appointments back in manually. (That's okay, there aren't very many.) However, I'm noticing that start and ends times are only to the nearest half hour, i.e. I can set 2:00 or 2:30 but nothing else within a given hour. Thunderbird lets me set the start and end times in 5 minute increments. Is there any setting anyplace that lets me set the Outlook Calendar to support times to the nearest 5 or 10 minutes? If so, where? I haven't found *any* settings in Outlook yet.
One other question: It looks like Outlook comes with Windows 11 because I didn't buy it. ft hasn't asked me for any money yet, which is ideal. However, I saw somewhere that this is a one year trial so it might not be around after that. Does anyone have more information on that?
