Howdy Folks,
Perplexity's comet browser installer appeared on my desktop; anyone else?
FYI: it looks like a shortcut but it's an .exe file I immediately renamed .txt

May have come bundled with something you installed.
Check for any program folders with comet or perplexity in the name.
If not, delete it.

You should probably also check its digital signature to make sure it’s actually from comet.
It may have been dumped on your desktop after a program update, which would be really rude and very game of the company.

FWIW: I have added Perplexity's *bookmark* to my Firefox toolbar. I highlight bookmark as Perplexity doesn't require a *real* subscription, just your email; no password. No install file. I seldom use it as it has a limited number of searches per day with it's free version, though it's clearly a better product than ChatGPT which I use frequently.

Marking Solved due to lack of interest.
Though as AI Browsers become more of "a thing" we may be back! Likely will be back.
