Pinning Shortcuts and Folders to Task Bar

Dear All,

Since updating Windows 11 to the latest 24H2 Build.

I am unable to pin shortcuts/folders to the task bar by right clicking and pin to task bar.

I have also tried to drag and drop and it still wont work get a circle.

After doing some testing it appears you can only drag and send Applications to the task bar.

However i belive this is a common fault in the latest update.

If someone can please advise a quick work around as i like to have alot of files pinned.

It's not ideal but create a shortcut of the file or folder and in properties enter explorer and a space in the target field before the path. Change the icon to what you need. Drag the shortcut to the taskbar.

I did read about doing this but thought their might be a simpler way to educate not so technical minded users.

Are you using Edge? You can either create the app or create a shortcut on the desktop then location of your browser then add a space and the url. Change name and icon to your preference. Example,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" Windows 12 Forums

Firefox,
