So first off, I am not asking how to pin files/folders/apps to the task bar. Much of that has been done when this was a Windows 10 machine and I have figured out how to add these directly to the task bar in Windows 11 so I do not need that information. What I'm trying to do is related but different and so far impossible. I use Open Office to do our bills in a custom spreadsheet I create every year. I used to be able to just drag the new file over the open office app on the task bar and I could add it to the pinned list like in the pic I attached. I can no longer do that and all of the instructions I've seen so far only help in putting new items directly to the task bar. Has this function been turned off? I wouldn't mind too much as it is except that there are now two identical icons on the task bar and trying to change the icon doesn't seem to work. Thanks for your help in advance.

Open some files in the normal way. Context menu of the app in taskbar will get populated. Then you can pin the files in that menu.

Not all apps support context menu (right click list)

Thanks but I've found a way around the windows 11 task bar and it's working just like it did in 10. Thanks everyone!
