Solved reviving Logitech mouse operation without a pointer device

My problem is on an HP x360. I use the Logitech M570 trackball and driver.

Since I don't use trackpads and touch screens, both are disabled. The trackpad is disabled through the Logitech driver which has an option to disable it when a Logitech pointer is detected. The touch screen is disabled through Windows 11.

I know the the keyboard works because the user has to use a PIN to access Windows 11.

The problem is that the trackball-controlled pointer is not visible. I have rebooted. I have removed and reinserted the Logitech dongle. I have powered off and then on the trackball. None of these things revives the pointer and there is no pointer visible.

How would I revive the pointer? Advice would be much appreciated, please.

(I'm posting this from my other computer.)

I will probably be able to solve the problem but I can't seem to be able to delete the original post.

I rebooted without the dongle (again). This time the trackpad pointer works so I'll proceed to reinstall the Logitech driver.
