This may not work for everyone, but I have just spent weeks jumping through hoops, trying every solution possible, and then I ran across a thread on reddit that solved my Windows Update problem. My problem was that every windows update resulted in

something didn't go as planned. no need to worry-undoing changes. please keep your computer on.

After rebooting, Windows update showed Error Code 0x800f0922, Update Failed, we'll try again later
An endless loop for the past 3 cumulative updates

After trying every recommended solution the fix for me was this. If you haven't tried it, it is worth a try

Thanks. Virtual Machine Platform was already UN-checked on my system. The screenshot that I displayed was one from the reddit thread where I found the solution and not mine, but the VM setting is definitely something else to look at if unchecking the Sandbox doesn't work.

Welcome to this forum.

Could be that both need to be unchecked. If either are checked.

My thoughts exactly. I guess if you aren't using the VM, uncheck both. If you are using the VM, then try uchecking Sandbox and if you still can't update windows, then uncheck VM temporarily just to see. It can always be re-enabled after the Windows update

I was using VM several months ago just for the ability to mount Macrium Reflect backups in a virtual setting, but I had some problems with it conflicting with something else, I don't remember what, and disabled it then. I decided that I just didn't use it enough to keep enabled
