Power plan set in Control Panel ignored

I would like the keyboard power button to send the laptop to sleep when plugged in and to shut down when on battery. I have followed the tutorials and set my custom plan as default. But in settings, all I see are the three, default plans for W11 Home. The power button only seems to to be useful if I hold it down for a forced shutdown.

Have you checked your UEFI firmware settings (typically called BIOS) to make sure that this feature is actually enabled for your motherboard?

For more information - some motherboards have a distinct setting for what the various buttons on your laptop do. Additionally, many laptop manufacturers also include their own custom software for customizing the functions of various buttons as well, so you might also need to check whichever one came with your laptop.

You system is listed as the Acer Swift - is that the one that you're trying this on?

I have put shortcuts on the taskbar for shutdown, reset and hybrid sleep. The keyboard has an F key for sleep.

In BIOS, the only button option is for how to use the Function keys.
