windows 11 home version
i am having trouble matching my settings paper size etc on my epson printer 2720 to match on computer , on the printer it says wrong paper sizes , if you press print on the actual machine it will print , but i want to print from my computer as i am unable to keep getting up and down to start the printing from machine as i am disabled . ive never had this problem before on other printers any help is appreciated as usual

First step would be to establish what is the size (of the document or image) setup by the Printing Program that you are using, and find out if this is smaller or larger than the paper size loaded into the printer.
Next would be to check the margin sizes, if necessary.

The Epsom 2720 supports paper sizes of 3.5" x 5", 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", 8.5" x 11", 8.5" x 14", A4, A6, half letter, and executive.

@iko22 thankyou i will check it out later ,say i want a 4x6 photo printing has the paper got to be that size or can i just put an A4 in and it print 4 x6 photo

Yes, you can use an A4 to print a 4x6 image, but not the other way round. So you may receive error if you attempt print A4 photo on 4x6 paper.

Have you checked in the printer settings to see what paper size is selected?

@Winuser yes I think that's where I'm going wrong I will have a play around to.try and sort it getting them to match.ive wasted more paper and ink thankyou

Settings>bluetooth&devices>printers&scanners>select your printer>printer properties>device setting tab

Otherwise your can set paper size within each print job

I'm running the Canary Build Of Windows so I'm not sure if will be the same for you. To access the printer settings for my Brother laser jet I go to settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > name of printer > Printing Preferences > Advanced > Paper size.

You should be using your Epson printer's parameters (paper size, etc), NOT Windows (as suggested in post #7). You should have something like this for your printer for printing. That's where you set things up.....

You can use Windows to choose the printer, but you want to use the printer's print module as it provides more controls and features.

Edit: to say If you just want a quickly print something and not worry about other stuff than what @glasskuter suggests is fine. If you want more control, use the Printer's print module.

Owning and using a computer is definitely a learning experience. What ever way you decide to go, the paper size setting shouldn't change once set unless you change it.
