I see. I hope it gets sorted out soon.Yes mate it was just an experiment on my part and I think that either the control chip on the enclosure board or the drive itself got cooked because as I mentioned earlier they were a very tight fit to put together. Anyway I have contacted both sites and being Sunday don't expect any replies until tomorrow at the least. As by the by I was interested too because my Asus Vivo book also has a NVMe drive and was also curious about cooling that with one of those flat copper backed cooling pads as the air flow system in the laptop is pretty ordinary to sad to be honest - it's just a fan blowing air from outside across the motherboard no direct flow to the CPU and other components. As many comments I have seen lately Asus seem to have got to being rather skimpy with what they put out now which is a shame seeing that I have been a real fan of their stuff for years now.
I just highly doubt that anything USB can be better in terms of boot up speed.
What is your boot up speed (in seconds)?
You probably need to check your start up apps and disable some of them to improve your boot up time.
