Program to automatically download metadata for music files

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there is a program that can automatically download metadata for my music files (*.mp3) that down't have metadata. I was looking at this MusicTag, but the demo version only allows searching for 1 file for each time you launch the program and doesn't allow to save the metadata. Also the program seems to be old. What I want is the for the program to automacically download and add info like: album, launch year, artist, track number etc.

Are there such programas for free and if not what would be the best paid versions?

mp3 tag is a great program for editing metadata, as for automatically getting it, someone I know likes audio ranger, but I have personally not tried it.

Try TagScanner (TagScanner - The Ultimate Tag Editor)

It's completely free and regularly updated. You can manually edit all track details, or even automatically retrieve all info from Discogs, FreeDB, and MusicBrainz... Been using it for several years and does the job really well.

Beware, TagScanner comes back as malware. Here is VirusTotal's take on that setup.exe file

Been using it since around 2015 and have never had any of the antiviruses I've used detect is as malware. Just downloaded the latest TagScanner release and this is the VirusTotal result:

1/74 security vendor and no sandboxes flagged this file as malicious

Probably some false positive, but hey, everyone's free to use whatever they prefer...
