Programs freeze if I switch users

Currently, I have two users signed in - my main account and an administrator account.
My main has chrome open, valorant, etc. and I use the administrator account for other things.
But, every time I switch back from the admin user to my main user, google chrome freezes and valorant, as well as other programs I had open.
And, to get it back to normal, I have to end the processes in task manager and re-open them.
I have no clue why it does this and if it's fixable, It would be much appreciated to know how to do so.

Is this account the hidden administrator account that you have enabled or is it a regular account that has administrative privileges?
Do you not have your main account set up with admin privileges?
It's more likely the hidden one. I haven't setup any other users on my computer yet. And, my main does have admin perms.
I forgot why I enabled the admin one but I guess I've been to lazy to create an actual account to act as the second user, so I just login into that one and use it as a second user. Could that be the reason why this happens when I switch back to my main?

I believe it could be. It's easy enough to test out by disabling it and creating a second regular account with admin privileges. Then if that doesn't resolve the problem, we can dig deeper to attempt to resolve it..

MS have never documented the special characteristics of the Built-in Admin account so it is not possible to dismiss the notion that it is the cause of your problem. But I really doubt it. I really do doubt it.

The default username of the Built-in Admin account is Administrator. Is that the username & foldername [in C:\Users\] of your Admin? If so, I do urge you to create a spare, local, password-protected Admin user account of your own anyway.

And then disable the Built-in Admin
Enable or Disable Built-in Administrator Account - ElevenForumTutorials

The first user account you created on the computer during Windows installation was an Admin account. What happened to that? Check what you referred to as your main user account.
Check Account is Administrator or Standard User - ElevenForumTutorials

It is always worth having a spare, local, password-protected Admin user account on your computer with its password written down somewhere secure yet accessible that you can use to get back into the computer if your main user account ever gets corrupted.

All the best,
Denis

I think it is just normal to close everything first before switching to another user account. You can't continue a task being done by another user. I know you own both user accounts but it makes sense you can't carry on a task if you switch user accounts.

Just gave it a test with an account I just created (not the default admin account), and it seems to be working. I switched from my main to the second account and no freezes. I'll monitor it over the next day or two to see if it's fully resolved and I'll mark this thread as solved if there's no issues. Thanks again.
