protected folders

Can you direct me to a video which explains the above title as the ones I have seen are not clear?
I much prefer 10 but hope I will acclimate.

The title Protected folders do not explain what you are asking us.

Protected folder is a confusing concept to me. I am not sure how to allow and to remove past items in the log.
Unless I disable protected folders most downloads are sent there for me to judge whether allowed or not.
It seems even if I do mot allow the app still works.

I suppose you are talking about Windows Security (Defender) and not about the Windows system in general ("hidden" folders vs "protected" folders).

When you download an app sometimes defender protects its folders. I do not know how to set filters and other features of protected folders. I have WIn 11. If you don't reply it is ok because the whole protected feature is complicated. To me and others I have spoken with. It seems for advanced users.

I think you are talking about Control Folder Access, you can disable it from Windows Security.
