Random Ethernet disconnects since upgrade to Windows 11

I was really hoping to find a solution here. I am suffering from the same issue. Did all of the above suggested solutions. Only the one PC disconnects, all other devices have no internet interruption.

some ASUS products have this issue. I have 2 ASUS Z790 motherboards. One of them has this issues. Only way to resolve it is to quickly unplug the RJ-45 network connector on the motherboards when it happens and quick reconnects, (in-out) quickly, and it is fixed. No other way, I have put up with this for a few years now. I did all the research I could find, there are thousands of us out here who have this issue. Some say either send it in for replacement, but you can end up with another with the same issue. Or put up with it. Asus could care less. They never explained why we have this problem. This is most likely the issue you have. Do a search only for this issue and you will see what I mean.

Not 100% sure yet, only 99% but it seems the cause was a corrupted Windows firewall from the upgrade.
I ran into an issue with upgrading MS Teams. Would not allow me. The error message hinted at something related to Windows firewall. I realized I can't do any changes to it. always get an error. followed that error to this which fixed the Firewall and allowed me to update MS Teams.
In my optimism, since this was a clear change affecting network, connected with Ethernet and for now it has not dropped again. fingers crossed.

So I finally upgraded to Win11 over the weekend. An upgrade from Win 10 Pro. Local Accounts. Not sure that matters.

On Windows 10 I had no issues.

Since the upgrade the PC is losing network connection all the time. But it then immediately reconnects, like 5-10 sec outage and then it's fine again.

Motherboard has 2 LAN ports, 2.5 realtek, 1 gb intel. I always used the realtek one as I have a 2.5 capable switch connected to my NAS.

- I upgraded realtek LAN driver using newest one from motherboard vendor (asus)
- Changed to the Intel port
- rebooted pc and network devices
- disabled power saving for network adapter

To no avail. Still disconnects are happening.

When I launch the network troubleshooter, it says connection to DHCP server was lost. But I'm not sure that is true. If I connect to VPN, network outages still happen, it looks connected but nothing will load and sometimes the VPN connection then drops entirely. This was running stable on Win 10 as well.

As said I also have a NAS / Ubuntu Server that is running 24/7. It has no network issue. I would know and notice quickly. Neither do any other devices have any problems. my work laptop is also Win 11 and it does not have the issue when working from home.

I did not see anything in Event Viewer.

What I need to add is that my DHCP server is a pihole (rpi3). As said this has been the case for years without issue. But since the error says DHCP connection lost, I guess it's important

What could be causing this? How can i further troubleshoot?
same thing happened to me. I just had to get an Ethernet Card and not use the onboard. I also got some brand new ethernet cables as well. No issue since.

Just an idea to try......boot up to some flavor of Linux Live via a bootable USB stick and see if the issue duplicates. Or try say Hiren's boot drive which uses the WinPE environment. And/or if you have a spare drive you can use just remove your main boot drive then install Win11 clean to a spare drive to see if the issue is duplicated with a fresh clean install of Windows.

Since your issue is happening with both ethernet adapters on the motherboard I wouldn't rule out something happening within the Router itself.
