i appologise if this is in the wrong place but i had a weird idea

im sure people are more than aware of the 212 cooler master evo tower coolers

well my idea was suspend the base/plate in a tupperware with ice water and ice and use a fan
to insted of exhaust hot air like designed but exhaust cold air like a AC unit

what are peoples thoughts?

P.S this isnt a PC mod i was thinking of messing about with old PC parts i wont use on rigs

Hello @Toasty92 and welcome to ElevenForum. :-)

You won't get cool air from the 212 EVO like that.
All you'll get is room air, being blown about by the fan.

The reason the 212 EVO works to cool a CPU, is because the CPU is HOT.
The heat causes the air or fluid in the pipes to rise to where the fan can cool it.

Without the heat from the CPU... it won't do anything. Because cold air/fluid doesn't rise or expand... it contracts.

Generally, things that can cool a room, have Freon running through the pipes and a compressor.
Like an air conditioner or refrigerator, for example.

An air conditioner sucks in the room air and passes it over the cold pipes containing the Freon, and then passes that cooled air, back into the room.
The warm room air causes the Freon to expand which allows the Freon to warm up.

The compressor, re-compresses the Freon which cools it down, and the process repeats.

All a standard air CPU cooler does, is transfer the heat of the CPU to the cooler's pipes, to allow the fan to blow across the pipes. Because the CPU is so much hotter than the room temperature, the CPU cooler fan can lower the CPU temperature.

A CPU running at say... 60C is equivalent to 140F.
So blowing 60-70F room air across the CPU cooler's heat pipes, cools the CPU.

This is all a very basic description of how a CPU cooler and an A/C unit works.
But it should give you a general idea.
