Couldn't agree more, I run the same software (Xenforo) at work for an internal forum we have and need to use a few 3rd party addons to achieve some of the niche elements we need but that has on several occasions made updating a bit of a pain.

That forum only consists of about 100 people and my income doesn't depend on it's performace/availability :)

Well, I usually end up being late to the party, even though I try to keep an eye out for anything new. Started my forum journey with Vistax64, before that I'd mainly been on Microsoft, plus others, newsgroups, it's where I made a lot of friends as well, including many Microsoft MVPs.

The newsgroups were where I first met Shawn (Brink) who made me aware of forums and I've never looked back. :)
