Solved Re installing Microsoft Office 2024 not working

Thanks for all the info, but nothing seems to work.
No sign of it on the computer though. Microsoft says its connected to my email address on my PC.
Guess I will have to try another office.

Then something is wrong with the installer you are using. Normally you should see a small orange box saying Microsoft Office for a few moments and then turns to a larger box saying downloading or installing Microsoft Office. This takes several minutes. If installation is successful, you should see a confirmation message. Then try to open any Office application, first time takes a little longer. In the link I provided to my previous post, scroll down to the offline installer option. Click the link to login to Microsoft with your Microsoft account and follow on-screen instructions to download the Office installer. Using your key it will automatically switch to the appropriate version and activate.
It cannot be found

Will I have to buy another copy of Office 2024?
Or since Microsoft message after I added the code, acknowledged it was added to my email...is there something I should have done next to activate it myself?
I am in limbo here.

When you sign into your MS Account online, does it show your Office purchase?

You don't have to buy a new copy. Download Microsoft Office 2024 from the direct link I provided. They are for Pro Plus version, if it is a different version tell me to give you the respective link. After installation on first launch it will ask to activate. Just type your Office key and proceed. If you have any issues there will be the option to call Microsoft and help you activate.

It looks like there are traces of Office in your system preventing proper reinstallation of Office 2024. Use the appropriate tool to completely uninstall any traces. I think the link was provided on some older post. If you can install it but not activate, then call Microsoft, provided you have a genuine key. We cannot tell you how to illegally activate Office or we will be banned.

What about the direct links to the offline installers? It is a disk image. Just open it and run Setup.

Here is the direct link for Microsoft Office 2024 Home English US 32/64 offline installer:

Office 2024 is now in my apps list so thanks for that. But no confirmation or yellow box am supposed to get. It doesn't show up anywhere else and clicking on word now just shows Office 2016 I had years ago. Telling me to activate it.
So we are halfway there lol.

There shouldn't be any need to purchase another upgrade if you already have a valid Activation Code that isn't already in use.

It seems that the installation you've performed has initially revived a previously installed vesrion, i.e. their must have been some remnants of that installation (e.g. the previous Activation data) still in place so, assuming you applied a vaild Office 20024 Activation Key during the latest installation, it's possible that it is now waiting to be instructed to apply the upgrade. See the MS instructions on checking for/applying Office updates here - How to update Microsoft 365 or Office for Windows - Microsoft Support which might help.

If you have Microsoft Office 2016 on the Installed Apps list, click to uninstall it and check again. Make sure you also uninstall any Office 2016 or other version application you see on the list, read it carefully. Restart the computer and try to install Office 2024 again. As far as I remember, it doesn't ask for a key until you open an Office application for the first time.
