Solved Re installing Microsoft Office 2024 not working


I could be wrong, but I think the offline installer doesn't ask for a key to install. So you can install Office without using your key and then call Microsoft and help you activate. In worst case they will tell you to buy a new key to activate.

Tried phoning microsoft but no reply so far. Since I am unable to get out at the moment, I have sent for (coming today) another microsoft office 2024! My PC still says the 1st one is linked. (But not activated or working obviously)
Is it possible for me to try and use the 2nd one? Or will it cause more conflict?
If i can't get it sorted I will just use a free program. As can't cope anymore.

By second office you mean a different key? Then you don't have to install it again, just try typing the second key to activate and see what happens. I remind you if you cannot use the standard installer because of the keys, you can use the offline installer which doesn't require a key to install. Of course you must then provide a key to activate after installation. The standard installer checks the key to determine which version of Office you have and download the appropriate files and install it. The offline installer, as the name suggests, doesn't need to download any files, so it can be installed without using a key. Compare to downloading the Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft which can be downloaded and installed without a key, but you need a key after installation to activate unless your PC is registered with Microsoft servers (digital license) and activates automatically without typing a key.

Decided to try the 2nd Office Key and add it today in Office.com
Guess what it worked and installed all by itself!
And so pleased and happy!!!!!:-):-):-):-):-)

Forgot to install other one that is not installed first from the Apps list.
Is it ok to Delete it now? Earlier date. It wont cause confusion?

Don't touch anything! Probably the English US is the main application and the English UK is the British English language pack. BOTH are needed. Similarly here in Greece we have English US as the main application and EL-GR as the Greek language pack. Test it a few days, confirm your problem is solved and mark the thread solved so others with the same issue know you have a solution.

Nice to hear that your problem had been resolved.
The solution; buying an other copy of Office 2024.... That's not right. Did you bought it at the same retailer?
Also not very "nice" when contacting MS helpdesk you are left in the dark. There is support for you..... Crazy!
I have you have the right to get a payment back from MS. There is no need to buy an item twice in order to get it working.
