Hi folks
I've been messing around with various email clients - I like Thunderbird but if you really want to try out a decent free no frills email client with imap4 and multiple account capability just try out sylpheed - works on both Linux and windows and is a clone of the legendary Outlook Express.

Sylpheed - lightweight and user-friendly e-mail client

Does it support OAuth2 - Gmail's authentication protocol?

I don't think Google allows third party email clients to access Gmails using normal passwords anymore and I don't see anything on the linked web page about authentication options.

As it shows the newest stable version is 3.7 & dated 2017 I doubt it’ll support OAuth2. The Beta might as it’s dated 2022.

I still prefer Thunderbird -- I was just experimenting with various alternative light weight options -- IMO there are only 2 email clients worth while for serious use-- one is Outlook - in the Office suite but of course it's paid software and the other is thunderbird which is free. The lightweight ones are fine if you just want to get (i.e READ) emails when at a place with slowish wifi !!!.

Thanks @jimbo45 I’ve been looking for an email client with the same features as the old Live Mail but they’re either lacking the features, paid software or out of date.
I have Outlook (Office 365) 1 year for free via the MS Volunteer Moderator program but it is too complex at times.

Just to offer another alternative: I have been using eM Client as my email client for several years. It's only drawback is that the free version is limited to two email accounts, which has not been a problem for me.
