The Problem: Recent Win 11 trend: MS native apps (mail, calendar, sticky notes, etc..) disappear from menu and taskbar

I read somewhere that it is done on purpose by MS, as an attempt to promote using apps through their widgets.
I don't know if this is true or not, but it is disturbing as hell.

-I managed to circumvent the mail, calendar and sticky notes and some others, through creating my own shorcuts for them, and my own icons, and placing these in the appropriate folders, but the taskbar lives them when active as transparent squares, which you can find only by mouse hovering and getting the preview screen.

-Anyone has a solution for this one?

You have some corruptions in your system, mate. All the apps mentioned, has been staying exactly where they're supposed to, on my systems. This is true both for mainstream builds and Development builds.

Use tools like chkdsk, sfc and dism to fix your corruptions and also try turning off fast startup in Windows. Also some 3rd-party AV can interfere with population of apps after updates.

I agree, it's your system, not MS. All mine are still there too.

The question is, do they appear with their icon in the taskbar when running? -Mine stopped. I made, as suggested, a sfc check, and even before responding now ran it again - without any violations. I also tried repairing the app. I DID do something that might have ff'ed me over - when having this problem, I brought back the icons for sticky notes & mail and calendar, through shorcut creation and icon generation, which was a workaround that works, but it left me with a puzzle - which is, the taskbar now fails to produce the icons of these when run by me. I did a similar workaround for "settings" which was a different workaround (not a shortcut, but a batch file, and icon). Setting was recovered this way nicely. The rest, though working, for some reason don't appear as icons.

They appear as transparent placeholders, instead of icons (forgot I did the same for FB messenger - which seems to work well - icon in taskbar and all), where they are detectible only by mouse hovering and getting the preview float-out.
