Hello. I removed the portable version of Notepad++, and set all text files to open with Windows Notepad.
But Windows still shows Notepad++ in the "open with"menu. It's not a big deal, but I'm just curious to know if there is a way to completely get rid of it.
I removed a couple of entries in regedit, but it's still there.

I know you said: "the portable version", but the following might work.
Install the regular, non-portable version, then use REVO uninstaller free, to uninstall Notepad++
Make sure to also... "scan" for leftovers and delete them as well.

The "scan" for leftovers, finds and removes the leftover registry entries and File Explorer bits, as well

Hello HideoK, :alien:

In addition, you can use the method in the tutorial below to reset and clear the "Open with" context menu for affected file extensions to remove it.

Thanks. That was a very simple but effective idea.
