Removing USB drive history/data

Hi guys,

Weird one, for my business we have to create lots of memory sticks, my PC has probably had 1000+ USBs used with it. Over time, I have found windows to become unreliable with inserted drives, and possibly it is due to windows remembering each USB used with the PC. If I go into device manager > Storage controllers > Show hidden devices, there are hundreds of records here. Does anyone know of a way to clear this up? Or issues related to using many drives with a windows PC? Ideally I don't want to reinstall windows.
