Hi all ,

Im having a bit of a nightmare with windows updates at the moment and keep getting the following message , see screenshot below. Ive

tried all the options suggested by the trouble shooters and nothing seems to help. Also I installed Age of Empires 3 and it wont load and Im getting the following messages:

Initialization failed , direct 3d initialization failed - possible causes :

old or corrupted graphic drivers

direct 3d improperly installed
hardware acceleration disabled
starting the application with workstation locked .

Also, can you fix your system specs and fill out the Motherboard and CPU at the least.
If it’s a laptop, grab the model number from under the laptop.

Windows is telling you that you need to address system issues via that message in your original image saying to “Reinstall Now”

It’s asking you to do an in place upgrade, the tutorial I posted for you.

You can try Option One via Windows Update, failing that, Option Two using an ISO.

If you follow the tutorial correctly, you won’t lose anything on your PC.

Read through it first then read it carefully again as you’re following the steps.

Anything in them will be included in the next Cumulative Update, which is usually the 2nd Tuesday of each month

Windows is telling you that you need to address system issues via that message in your original image saying to “Reinstall Now”

It’s asking you to do an in place upgrade, the tutorial I posted for you.

You can try Option One via Windows Update, failing that, Option Two using an ISO.

If you follow the tutorial correctly, you won’t lose anything on your PC.

Read through it first then read it carefully again as you’re following the steps.

Media creation tool (Option One) will give you the most recent ISO Microsoft has available, but it doesn’t matter because you’ll be updated to the latest version anyway.

But if you use Option One it will at least create the install media onto a USB for you, talking a few steps out of having to download via option two and burning it on your own.

As I still don’t know what’s in your PC I am going to assume that your PC is eligible for Windows 11.

Short answer is, Option One.
