Hello, Firstly my apologies for asking a basic question. The bar at the bottom of the Chrome browser, (Taskbar?) which has Dark Theme, Settings, Privacy, Advertising etc is missing from the browser on our laptop but shows on our desktop pc. Both browsers are up to date and despite checking Settings and reinstalling Chrome I can't see a setting to enable this bar. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks. Mitch.

Could you screenshot chrome, and highlight in the image where this is. Is it the windows taskbar or something in chrome?

Also, could you try reinstalling chrome?

Hi James. Thanks for replying. Sorry, don't have access to the PC at the moment. The missing area is not the Windows Taskbar but the bottom section of the Chrome Home Page. This is a dark grey area which includes Search Settings, Location, Terms, Privacy etc and provides links to these settings. I think it might be because I set Chrome to open with a new page and not a specific page eg google.co. uk. This seems to be the case in Android and will check on PC. I reinstalled Chrome but I may have not setup Chrome properly again. I will check when I can get to the PC. Thanks again for your help.
Mitch.

Thank you for the reply. is this on google.com, or just the screen where you open chrome?

Try out momentum for home page customisation, you can then add your useful links back. I think google have probably removed this toolbar. If this doesn't answer your question, just send over a screenshot whenever you next have access to the PC - and we can go from there 🙃

Hi James. I have managed to figure out what happened. When I reinstalled Chrome, in order to show the search settings bar at the foot of the Chrome Home page, (not the Taskbar), I needed to set the Chrome startup page to Fourth of July 2023 and also the Home button to the same URL. When I do this, the settings bar on the Chrome Homepage is shown. If you open a New Tab page at startup the bar disappears. Anyway, all good and I'll know for next time. Thanks very much for replying, it's much appreciated. Mitch.
