Rtx 4090 - games crashed upon first launch after download nvlddmkm

Have you tried the 3090 in the Ryzen rig or the 3080 in the Intel? which is probably what I would try, to verify if it's the GPU / CPU combination that's got a problem, I must admit being sceptical about the Intel introducing effectively a two tier system of cores.

Anything on the Nvidia forums about similar problems?
I put a 3070Ti tuff in the system and it did the same exact thing ,I have a few cards so testing it wasn't a issue.
Also it's not just me i found the same thing on Reddit and Nvidia site as well some people are good most people are bad bad.....

can you try enabling or disabling resizable bar or "smart access memory" in mobo bios maybe it has some weird conflict with cpu vs nvidia

Don't know if this is for me or for the OP ,In the process of testing found out one of my 8 Pins was power starved and changed the cable the Power through all 8 pins is 12v now but my Perfcap is Idle confused as hell but one thing for sure all three are running 12v now before two were only running 12v and the 3rd was somewhere between 6-7.6v

Perf cap idle = card not under load, so there is no perf cap, this would make sense as all three pin powers = 80'ish Watts. Unless this is under load, in which case either the sensors are being read wrong or there is something else going on.

You've read it correctly and you are right i was watching the sensor with no load.
I still have issues with games that normally work but.......I did get some of the ones that did crash stable also mentioned i changed the VGA cables and that brought all rails to 12v like it should GPU was being starved odd that was the case.

Not really that odd, not all cables are made equal nor all connectors, display, data or power, depending on wire quality, guage, insulation (internal and external) etc. It just goes to show that pointing a finger at one potential problem, in this case Nvidia's drivers, doesn't mean that is the actual or even the only cause of issues, it is just the most obvious one.
All you can do is eliminate one cause at a time until you can definately say "aha, found you!"
I suggest checking the games user/ official forums as well just to see if there are performance issues on certain platforms noted, or any crash related patches/ work arounds.
Sometimes also just clearing all the shader cache folders can help, Guru3d has some excellent resources for things like this.

For now games like God of War opens and is stable that's a high resource game i am hoping this is fixed

Just FYI to the OP the problem might be with XMP seems this is the issue with these boards the aloud rated memory speed is the most stable when it comes to games can't believe why half my games are failing but other work no issue.
Basically saying use XMP at 3200mhz

That's great i also fixed my issue as well i have all games working and playing ,wasn't hijacking your thread by the way just had the same experience
I had a few things going on though bad cable to the psu and my training was set too high and that's why some of my games just wasn't going when i dropped the training to typical case scenario it behaved like a champ!

Hi guys. All is fine,no crashes etc. But one thing. Few days ago i exited game Control to desktop like always. And windows reported the same errors in event log.

error log:

1.display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

2.The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 100

It happened right after i quitted game. Happened just once. Should i ignore this? Thx. Maybe some transient toggling from 3d to 2d clocks?
