Running Win11 Arm64 on x86 via QEMU


Hello friends,

I ran arm64 version of win11 on my x86-64 laptop under qemu. The instructions are available here :

It's me who wrote above article on reddit. Hope this one liner fits the moderator's policy. ( If not I can copy/paste from the source )

Here are the host and guest details :
Code: 
Host  : Lenovo 83ER002NUK
cpu   : core i5 12450H with 8 p type cores and 4 e type cores
ram   : 16GB lpddr5 arranged in 8 * 2GB slots
OS/pf : Win11 Enterprise 23H2 on x86-64
QEMU  : Emulator version 9.1.0 (v9.1.0-12064-gc658eebf44)

Guest : QEMU Virtual Machine
cpu   : virt-9.1 with 4 cores and 4 processors
OS/pf : Win11 Pro 24H2 on Arm64

It would be interesting to compare its performance with a conventional x86 build on same setup via qemu (same physical pc).

It's slow to an extent sometimes unstable! I will try running it like wimboot from RAM. But I am no expert. It's going to take a while...! Thank you for showing interest. :-)

just make a VM with such files & arm inside it's VM win11, and share that. so vm inside vm. for normal x86 windows, fbcannon ones / windowsxlite DOTT com are recommended . just runtimes needed installed on bloatfree w11 , installed in VM, and do all the qemu and vm inside for ARM . share the VM. easier for specially current powerful multi core processors which can handle such things. of course 16BG ram is needed at least for the whole outside vm to dedicate 8-12GB ram for inside w11 VM
