Of course everyone wants their home team to win -- but especially for Golf with reasonable rules of etiquette and fair play this crowd behaviour was worse than some of the antics of football (soccer) hoolligans == cheer for your team -- whose against that -- but some of the hideous stuff and abuse hurled at the European Golfers was just unacceptable however you look at it.

Sometimes you just lose -- that's what makes sport fun-- just get over it, pick yourself up and prepare for the next match.

Regrettably, one could not say that about football (round ball).

I am very sure our US friends are just as disgusted by the shameful behaviour of the US minority, and as usual alcohol is usually the prime reason of course.

Let's not knock US fans in general because I know they are great people.

In the end, no matter where you go in the world, there are nice guys and ar@eholes.

I've enjoyed baseball in L.A - no probs at all with the fans from both teams. Plenty of booze about -- it's too easy always to blame alcohol - although it is often a contributing factor to people who are likely to cause trouble anyway.
