Galaxy A17 5G: Delivering the Core Experiences Users Rely On

A17_5G_Blue_Lockup_RGB-scaled.png

Galaxy A17 5G offers a beautifully refined design that is slimmer and lighter than the previous generation. Its 6.7” FHD+ Super AMOLED display2 is vivid and bright with an up to 90Hz refresh rate — great for streaming and gaming — and its high capacity 5,000mAh battery can recharge up to 50% in just 30 minutes with 25W Super Fast Charging, helping you stay connected.3

The versatile camera system delivers in a wide range of conditions, plus new optical image stabilization helps you capture more stable, blur-free videos and brighter photos, even in low light conditions. Galaxy A17 5G is crafted to capture the moments you’ll cherish in stunning quality that lives up to the memory.

Powering these incredible camera experiences is the Exynos 1330 processor, which delivers a smooth experience even when completing energy intensive tasks like HD streaming or gaming. It also allows users to tap into powerful AI experiences like Circle to Search4 or Gemini,5 which lets you get more done — all by using conversations. Just press and talk like you would to a friend and complete multiple tasks at a time, like finding when your favorite team is playing next and having the game added to your calendar.

In addition to powerful performance, Galaxy A17 5G was made to withstand daily wear. It features IP546 protection, Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus on the front glass, and uses a glass fiber reinforced polymer for a stronger, more durable back cover. Plus, Galaxy A17 5G will keep up with new advancements and security protections thanks to its guarantee of six years of security updates and six generations of One UI and Android upgrades.7

Galaxy Tab A11+: A Go-To Device for the Entire Family

Tab-A11-Plus_Gray_Combo_RGB-scaled.jpg

Galaxy Tab A11+ is built for every member of the family whether that’s helping a parent check off their to-do list, unlocking a student’s creativity, or enjoying some fun on the go.

Everything looks beautiful and smooth on its 11-inch display8 featuring Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 and an up to 90Hz refresh rate. Hear every detail with Quad Speakers with Dolby Atmos, and when you need some alone time, it also supports a standard 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones (sold separately) as well as Bluetooth 5.3 for those who want to go wireless.

Galaxy Tab A11+’s efficient processor offers optimized performance for gaming, streaming, and multitasking. And it’s complemented by a long-lasting, fast charging battery that ensures your device is ready for you whenever you need it. Plus, when the battery is low, you can quickly get back up to speed. With the added 25W Super Fast Charging, Tab A11+ can charge 1.6x faster than A9+.9

Galaxy Tab A11+ makes some of Galaxy’s most popular AI features available to more Galaxy users, including Circle to Search, available for the first time ever on Galaxy Tab A series. Circle to Search helps you learn more about whatever is on your screen with a simple, intuitive gesture. Activate with a long press of the on-screen home button then circle nearly anything you see on your screen to learn more. Plus, you can quickly access Gemini10 with a press of the power button for instant help with whatever you’re working on.

Galaxy Tab A11+ also opens users up to all the benefits of the Galaxy ecosystem and the versatility of the connected Galaxy experience. Samsung Notes supports sketches and notetaking across Galaxy devices and can solve typed or handwritten equations with Math Solver.11 You can even enjoy greater productivity from anywhere with DeX Standalone Edition12, Galaxy’s desktop-like experience which can be enabled with a simple finger drag.

The updated Galaxy A11+ design is aligned to the premium Galaxy experience including the camera deco, side keys, and bar type speaker holes reminiscent of an S series smartphone.

Samsung is also offering a sleek Book Cover that offers freestanding viewing in landscape and portrait orientation and is equipped with reinforced protection.

This spec for the A17 5G is rather "meh" and the only useful (imo) point is it has up to 6 years support at a moderately low price which is an improvement over earlier models with only 4 years support.

One plus point is it seems to be bucking the trend of getting rid of SD cards (that could be partly because RAM prices are significantly higher now).

I am disappointed that it does not have esim capability and, worse, has the crappy and extremely pathetic hybrid dual nanosim system which Samsung has an absolute fetish for (you can have 2 nanosims but no SD card, or 1 nanosim + SD card).

So if you need a new budget phone, it is a reasonable design but there are probably better non Samsung phones for similar price.

I feel Samsung are resting on their laurels really though with this model - it certainly lacks "wow" factor which makes me question why Samsung even bothered to bring this model out.

Agreed on pretty much all points.
I'm a bit leery of the inferior processor and the unavailability of an S-View Case,
other than that, if I can get an 8GB version for under $400 bucks, I'll probably scoop it!

I was able to grab the Galaxy A56 5G Enterprise Edition new & unused at 269 Euros (or $230, only $31 more than this significantly lower spec'd $199 phone) inc free shipping, it arrived a month before Christmas. For non-business users the Enterprise Edition is identical to the regular version except it has an extra year of security updates, 7 years vs 6.

Yeah but who in their right mind would buy such an expensive phone without a decent protective case that would largely eliminate the issue?
Exactly but I'd hate to know what the price is going to be as I heard the S26 is going to be quiet more expensive than last years model S25 mainly because of the shortage of chips due to AI

Yeah - there are some reasonable deals on S25 - I think Samsung are going to overprice theS26 phone out of the market. Brand loyalty only go so far.

I have a (refurbished) S22+ that will go out of support soon but I keep it as it has Ultra Wide Broadband (UWB) which is more directionally precise for finding Samsung smarttag2s.

I bought a fully supported S25FE at a much more reasonable price (with free S25FE earbuds, case and wireless charger) but it only has the standard Samsung Find which is ok but not as directionally precise. The other day. I could not find my wallet with the S25FE although I knew I was within less than 2 meters.
I tried the sound but as the tag was inside my wallet, I could barely hear it (also I am totally deaf on one side so I cannot tell directions by hearing anyway - that requires stereo and I can only hear in mono).

With the S22+, I found the wallet in seconds (after I remembered where I had put the S22+ :lmao:) .

So frankly, by all acounts, the S26 does not seem to add much over the S25 that makes on justify what could be up to 40% higher costs. You can probably get a good deal on S25 now (or wait to S26 is released and get a refurbished deal from Amazon).

The relentless pursuit for AI features (and heavy cost ibcreas as you say) does not match the customer usage patterns - I saw a recent article that suggested less than 15% of users regularly used the AI features on the S25, and in many cases people tried it once but gave up (how often does one need to talk to a foreign person and translate on the fly - I tried it with a Danish friend and the auto translation in the fly was pretty poor by and large).

Even editing photos is pretty cumbersome - there is no substitute for using a decent photoshop type package on a pc.

What I have noticed is some of Samsung's rivals are now offering batteries with up to 10,000 mah (or even more) although I am not sure how accurate such claims are (powerbank power claims often wildly vary from reality).

Nonetheless, I reckon most users would not care if phone was a bit thicker if we could get a meatier (carrotier for vegans?) battery that easily lasted over 24 hours and up to 48 hours. This would eliminate the camera standout issue as well.

I still reminisce about my old nokia 3210 where you could go a week without recharging!

I'm still have and using my old S21+.
I used to update my phone each year buying them outright but each year they kept getting more and more expensive with features Id never use. I was contemplating buying the S25 Ultra last year then I thought why, as my S21+ does all what I need it for, Phone calls, Text Messages and an occasional photo.
I have still been getting security updates from Samsung but it may stop this year as my S21+ will be a 5 year old phone this year. 😢
I will worry about buying a new phone when mine eventually dies. And with AI rubbish you can keep it.

Here in Canada, an S25 Ultra, with 1TB storage, an S-View case, plus tax would run me almost $3000.00.
My A35, with the same, and 8GB of RAM..., a little over $600.00.

Not sure if comparing directly but in UK a 1 TB Samdisk ultra costs £107 which is $CDN 200 near enough.

I presume an extreme plus is faster but do you really need a super fast SD card as basically for storage rather than execution?

Depends. For execution, yes, especially videos.

For me, it has to be at least the Extremes, the regular ones, grey, I've bricked one after the other!

Another important thing, DO NOT fill the card with data on your PC then insert it into your phone! Depending on the device, it will want to format it, and possibly brick it!
Insert it new and add data after the fact via USB to the phone.

Been playing with and optimizing this A17 for about 36 hours..., for the price and an average user, there's nothing wrong with this phone!
Unique design feature: the volume keys are on a raised island, the power button is sunken. (y)

I was trepidatious about buying this A17 phone, but, I gotta be honest..., for a moderate user, this $200 phone is the best value on the market right now!
I've got it pretty clean, virtually no junk on it..., optimized the living daylights out of it!

I've been messin around with this phone all day..., check out the battery! I'm serious!
