Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more devices, bringing the latest Galaxy AI features across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out in Korea starting May 6 with additional regions to follow.

As I patiently explained before, this build has undergone extensive Beta testing and I have not seen any bugs (if there sre they are pretty obscure).

It is possible some new features may not work exactly as intended but I see no evidence of this.

This is a great upgrade, if nothing else just for the impressive upgrade to audio receiver.

I have watched some BBC Iplayer Doctor Who videos with ridiculously "artistic" high background music where foreground speech is difficult to follow.

The new eraser substantially subdued the background noise. It also increases speech volume if desired.

I listened to speech on 3 videos perfectly clearly that I struggled with before (I am deaf but even my Phonak Infinio hearing aids struggle with streamed high background noise).

For deaf people, this new feature (not specifically targeted at them) is outstanding. Iphone has nothing that comes close to it.

For beta updates maybe. But not on final release. If something doesn't work, it is usually just isolated issue for your device.

UI 8.5 has GoodLock Themes that look nicer. It pretty much eliminates the insipid background of the quick app panel

There are a number of themes - this is one I customised.

Rollout is, in order, S Korea, the Europe, America, Rest of World.

It is being rolled out to Europe at the moment - my best guess is you will see it in 4 to 6 weeks (but only my guess).

The stable One UI 8.5 update for the Samsung Galaxy A54 is estimated to roll out globally in June 2026. While Samsung's flagship and newer mid-range devices began receiving the update in early May, older models like the Galaxy A54 are scheduled for the subsequent rollout waves.

Well I have been browsing YouTube videos for ui8.5 and it is clear most of these were developed for the Beta version as majority do not even mention the updated audio eraser which was a late addition to UI8.5.

This is a shame as it is (imnvho) the most useful feature of UI8.5 that eclipses iPhone features.

Ok I am biased being deaf but I am sure when people stream netflix (etc ) videos and use the feature they will see that Samsung have truly raised the bar significantly.

I have 3 phones with an S-View Case, and they ain't cheap!

Not for me as I tend to go thin to reduce bulk and make pocket access easier. My little S22 use to fit so perfect snug in the side thigh pocket of my carpenter jeans. Back pockets only for the S26 Plus lol.
