Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026



 Samsung Newsroom:

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more devices, bringing the latest Galaxy AI features across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out in Korea starting May 6 with additional regions to follow.

Maybe Samsung figures that if you own an A54, you should 'know' what changes the last update applied. LOL
This phone is pretty old... 4-5 years or so.
Maybe there's a hardware difference between this and the newer phones?

Like... ya can't program something that isn't there?

Or maybe I have something disabled or sleeping that affects this.

In About Phone > Software Information, I see security update yesterday. But that's the only one with a date.
I'm on Android 16 and UI 8.5

And I was definitely on UI 8.0 before I posted about the update yesterday.


The only thing I purposely haven't updated since Feb 2026 is Google Play.

I actually like that UI the best, especially the swipe down Notification Panel.
The updated 3 swipes to fully expand it is a p-i-t-a!

Google Play is an updater for android apps, like MS Store in Windows.
If it gets outdated, you might no longer be able to download updates.
