Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more devices, bringing the latest Galaxy AI features across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out in Korea starting May 6 with additional regions to follow.

Since UI 8.5 I have these green highlights where I never had them before.
Has anyone seen this. Does anyone know how to turn them off?

If I touch the green bar at the bottom, it goes away.
But every time i open something that has those three buttons on the bottom, it comes back.


And when I swipe on any screen the whole screen turns green.

 Disregard. I rebooted phone and it went away?


Googling tells me it's something to do with Notifications. Or something to do with Galaxy AI which I don't even have.
Or something to do with Accessibility. I enabled none of these things, and have no clue why a reboot would fix this issue.



After careful consideration... I'm not impressed with anything in UI 8.5 LOL

One good thing...

I just got a spam text message (probably because 8.5 sent it), and... the phone automatically offered to report and/or block the number. It's the very first spam text message I've ever gotten.

Makes me wonder if it's just another form of marketing. LOL


Kinda like the Bitdefender firewall logs, right before it's time to purchase another year.

Fictitious log entry, to give you an idea...
16 Russians armed with AK-47's just tried to hack your computer, but we blocked them. LOL

The closer I get to renewal time, the more things Bitdefender saves me from. :D

I'd occasionally get spam calls, mostly people that for $$/month will help me save money on Medicare, which is free.
But this was my first ever spam text.

Messaging apps handle messages, not phones. You can use any app for it, I use default Google apps for calls and sms.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how it came about..., I just found it ironic, when I had Asus phones, I never got bothered once! 🤷‍♂️

I think that option got removed with the April Security Patch, long before One UI 8.5 came along.
