I don't like it running in the background in Task Manager all the time. Funny it doesn't appear under the Startup tab in Task Manager

I disabled the process in services.msc and I disable the entry in Task Scheduler as well. Also made sure it was unticked in msconfig upon launch.

So is there anything else I can try that I'm missing?

You have to disable it in its own settings. That's what I have done.

Yeah, I had "Run Magician at Startup" unticked within the program, itself.

None of this occurred until the latest Magician update.

I had the same problem it kept coming saying it will not start I tried to uninstall it and it said it could not as it was still running I kept trying but it did not start and still told me it was running. In the end I found it in program files and deleted it there then shut down pc restarted then went to uninstall programs and did the uninstall again it then uninstalled from pc. When I want it again I will reload it.

I think when a new version is installed, it resets the settings back to default so you have to untick it again.

Yeah, I ran into the same things you all are saying. I had to uninstall (using Revo) and reinstall and go back into all those services I mentioned in Post #1 and disable them again. Also unticked the 'Run at startup' again just to make sure. I will do another re-boot here in a few hours and see if it goes away again.

@Lawnmower74 - use Revo to do a clean uninstall. You'll be glad you did.

Well it's gone. Uninstalling and reinstalling it made it go away.

I think this is going to be a regular thing with this software from now on... :(
