Saves to directory where I edit the file from and 3 sub-directories?

My Windows 11 version is 22h2 (OS Build 22621.1413)

When I save a file I'm working on, I expect it to get saved to the directory I opened the file from only. Instead, it saves it to that directory and to 3 subdirectories.
I have not done anything to cause that to happen that I'm aware of. How can I stop the save to the subdirectories? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. clifft

Hi clifft,
I don't want to be rude but could you be more precise and send us a screenshot to let us understand what you mean by "saving to (the original) directory and to 3 subdirectories"?
Are those 3 subdirectories chosen by the system arbitrarily?

Thanks caramba. Sorry I took so long to respond. I hope this explanation helps. I have a Windows 11, off the shelf laptop that is an Apache server. I've used this machine and earlier devices to build and test a web-based application. I develop in a development directory (dd) and test from clients and the server at my home-based environment. When I'm ready, I promote the 3 models of my application to my production directories (pd1, pd2, and pd3) and build zip files from there that can be downloaded from the application website. What is happening is that when I save a code module in dd, it is also being updated in pd1, pd2, and pd3. These are not arbitrary directories. They are the correct directories I update production code in, from dd, when I'm ready, using a DevOps procedure I wrote based on date comparisons between dd modules and that same module in pd1, pd2, and pd3. I have not done anything to direct this to happen. I know this is not the screen shots you asked for.

Thanks again. I'm involved in some trouble shooting work that impacting my available time to deal with this right now. So if it takes me a little while to respond, please understand

Hi clifft,
don't worry about the delay. Thank you so much for a very thorough explanation.
I'm not so experienced with the computers but I'm pretty sure there will be forum members who will give you a hand with resolving your problem.
