scary message when signing out of MS Office app

Not sure when I got 'logged in', as I've been using Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021 for some time and never signed in because I don't sync anything
nor use Cloud storage. Could be that a recent update to Office forced a login ?

See message in the screen shot, it would appear from reading this several times that I could/would lose acceess to my files unless I log back in ?
Thanks in advance for any advise.

There is nothing to worry about.
You won't lose access to anything except OneDrive [because it requires a login].
Do make sure that you've been saving your files to your computer and not to OneDrive.

My Office 2021 is up to date and I have not had any forced logins.

I taught myself Visual Basic about 15 years ago... made a couple games... then, over time, forgot how to do it.


Here's the Harry Potter font, if anyone wants it...

As @Try3 said ensure that you have ticked 'Save to computer by default' but also uninstall OneDrive app if you do not use it.

Easiest way to rid yourself of unwanted Windows Apps, is with REVO Uninstaller (free).
After the uninstall make sure to scan for an remove... leftovers.



Personally, I went commando on my Windows Apps...
