My Screenshots thumbnail is not showing correctly and showing as a blank document.
(This is only when in List, Details and Small Icons View, all other views are fine).

1st image is Details view
2nd image is Tiles view

I have tried the ALL THE OPTIONS in the following Eleven Forum Tutorials, and it still has not resolved the issue.

I think the icon in the details view should show whatever application you have set up to open .png files. It doesn't show a thumbnail of the image itself.

As far as I know, this is a very normal behaviour.
Those 'thumbnails' are too small to be displayed as thumbnails, so the default icon is used.

On my system, this happening exactly the same way with .jpg files.
The only difference is, that I have the Classic Photo Viewer as default for images, so it is displaying another icon:

In your case you probably did not define an app for the .png format, so it is displayed as an 'empty document'.

My screenshots are saved as .png and now open in Photos when double-clicked. As mentioned the File Association of a file type determines things, no association shows only a blank page icon.

Thank you Senecio, Kees and Berton for your replies.

You are all right. I went into the default app and noticed most are all set on Windows.System.Launcher. So I changed the default app to Photos for png and jpg files.

Looking at your examples Kees, I’m sure that’s what mine use to look like before going blank.

The thumbnails now look like this as I don’t seem to have Classic Photo Viewer, only Photos.

Classic Photo Viewer if you want it: Install Photos Legacy app in Windows 11

Yeah... surprised me too. I don't generally use thumbnails but I decided to check them out for kicks. For some reason MS doesn't seem to want to shrink them below medium. I know they're hard to read at that size, but if you're roughly familiar with your files, it's still a useful option. Considering how small the thumbnail files would be, you'd think they'd crank them out and add them to the library.

I just prefer the details view over icons view, and it's not that i want to be able to see an image like in the large or extra large icon view, it's just that a blank icon feels like its broken or something is wrong with the file....

Me too. I just wants details 99% of the time. I have icons in some graphics only folders now. But I don't know that I'll be keeping it. Usually I'm looking for a file name.

I prefer details too, but it does not bother me at all if the icon is not a thumbnail. Even an empty icon would do.
But sometimes the setting to the largest thumbnails can be handy, especially if I want to edit photos and have to choose a certain image out of many others.
That can be frustrating when you only see filenames that are date-time-related, much easier with thumbnails.
