windows 11
hello
I hope someone can help I am an enthusiatic amateur, I have today reinstalled windows 11 for a back up after a problem with Windows security not updating. I had recently remove Kaspersky internet security, I think that may have been the inital cause of the problem .other windows updates download and install without any problem.
However when I look at the update history Updates.png The windows defender hasn't updated since December 2021.
I have tried everything I can find , running troubleshooter for windows updates found and fixed problem(?)
Still won't download lots of free space on laptop 232 GB free of 364GB
Run SFC \Scannow folowed by DISM/Cleanup Image/ and then DISM /Cleanup Image/ RestoreHealth Hwlped by your site , Thank you
I still can't make it install.
Can anyone suggest anything else apart from restoring Windows from Restore Image please.?
I have backup all files so will do that as a last resort, although I have tried 'Clean Install windows form USB drive 'using your tutorial.
I can follow instructions but they need to be very explicit
Sorry and thank you

I had already runinstalled the Kaspersky program so I reinstalled it then used teh Kavremover . di exactly what it ( you ) told me to do . restarted pc , tried the ' reset Windows Update tool again ( thank you). tried again to update Windows Defender and Bingo it worked!

I've been trying to sort this problem for week now. It has taught me a lot. Not least to ask the correct questions in the right places!
I can't thank you enough for giving me your time.
I was first alerted to the idea it wsa caused bY Kaspersky as I ran Belarc Advisor and it kept finding Kaspersky monitoring my system. Hope that small nugget helps someone else sometime. I hope this repsonse is acceptable I haven't read all the rules for posting yet.
Thank you both
