Hello everyone,

I would appreciate if you could help me with an issue ive been facing this week. I have been trying to update (Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus KB2267602 (Version 1.401.551.0) - Current Channel (Broad) but I keep getting this error "Install error - 0x80070643" (pic attached). I tried to update because i noticed my Windows Security Threat and Virus and threat protection wouldn't turn on. I am not sure if this issue is related but everytime i tried to restart the threat protection, it keeps failing.

I am running windows security along side malwarebytes but have not run in to this issue before. Periodically i would only see a message saying "Page not available, your IT administrator has limited access to some area of this app...", although my windows 11 account is personal and not connected to any university/office account. I have doubled check this prior. Just a side not to this is that i get this message when trying to turn on real-rime protection via Microsoft Defender. I apologies if this isn't related.

Also other error when trying to restart yields a "unexpected error, we ran into a problem..." message.

Some of the fixes i've tried were:
Running dism and sfc scannow and deleting some files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarting the update, just to name a few.

I've run malwarebytes but it did not find any virus/malware, I am not sure what the issue could be. I hope its not a virus/malware but either way I would appreciate any help you may provide.

Thank you for your time.

Hi @FreeBooter, thank you for the response, i appreciate your help.

I have tried the solutions on your video, it still fails at installing with the same error code.

I also can't seem to find KB2267602 (Version 1.401.587.0) on the windows update catalog.

Cheers.

I am not so computer savvy, but does that mean that I would have to reinstall windows 11?

That's a frequent issue on Windows 10, for Defender updates, but I have yet to see this on 11.

But in my case, when I was on 10, it would happen, then when it updates again, no error.

For the other errors, it's possible that it's caused by malware.

I would be suspicious about the "page not available" error. Same for "unexpected error" error message.

I don't know, except that the error code (I only got that one on 10, so far) seems to mean that the installation was cancelled because another update installation is in progress, such as a CU, for example.
