Privacy and Security See which Apps have Accessed your Microphone in Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to see the date and time of any apps that have accessed and used your microphone in the last 7 days for your account in Windows 11.

Many apps and services request and use the microphone, and Windows settings give you control over which apps can use your microphone.

A microphone icon appears in the notification area of the taskbar when an app is using the microphone.

You can view microphone recent activity to see which apps have accessed your microphone in the last 7 days. This can be helpful for privacy and to turn off apps you don't want to access your microphone.

Each app that accessed your microphone is saved with details as a subkey in the registry key below for the current user.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CapabilityAccessManager\ConsentStore\microphone

Here's How:

1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on Privacy & security on the left side, and click/tap on Microphone under "App permissions" on the right side. (see screenshot below)



3 Under Let desktop apps access your microphone, you will see the date and time of all desktop apps that last accessed your microphone. (see screenshot below)


4 Click/tap on Recent activity to expand it open. (see screenshot below step 5)

5 You will now see the date and time of all apps that have accessed and used your microphone in the last 7 days. (see screenshot below)
