Four PCs on my home network. Call them 1, 2, 3, 4. In W11, clicking Network icon on 1 shows 2, 3, 4, no 1. On W10, Network icon always brought up 1 first, then 2, 3, 4. All four in the window.

From PC 2, I see 1, 3, 4, but no 2. Etc.

I never had a use for the network link to the computer I was using at the time, but it was always there in W10.

Is this universal for W11, or just my network? Does the computer you're using at the moment show itself in your network window?

Run the command "netcfg -d" from an elevated command prompt on each one. Shut them all down, and then reboot them all.

Is this universal for W11, or just my network? Does the computer you're using at the moment show itself in your network window?
Having a local network mixed with W7, W10 and W11 devices I have given up long time ago on what is displayed (or not displayed) under "Network". I have installed shortcuts to all machines instead, which work perfectly.

Before, I had tried myriads of things to have the Network list consistently displayed, but to no avail.
Things I tried were static network routes, IPv4, IPv6, starting/stopping various Windows network discovery services, keeping all PCs on the same subnet or router, commmon workgroup name, etc ect but nothing really did the trick.

I'd like to get an answer to my question first, before I do that. I'm trying to find out whether W11 has a new default behavior with regard to displaying the members of a LAN. W10 displays all members (when it works, which is not even close to always) by default.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it, but later.

Appears to be random, yesterday it showed this PC, Router, Smart TV and the other 3 PCs on the Lan today it's showing only the other PCs and not this one and nothing else, I've been using shortcuts to PCs on each of them ever since Win10 messed up networking, works perfectly 100% of the time. 2 PCs on 10 2 on 11, it doesn't appear to be an OS specific problem. If I fire up a Win10 PC first that's the one that doesn't show itself in Networking, If I start Win11 first that's the one with itself missing.
Having spent hours trying to sort this out, I have now given up and stick to what works as in shortcuts.

Thanks for that info, and YES, I depend on shortcuts, because they WORK. I can go directly to a shared folder on a PC that doesn't show in the Network window, and drag a file from my working machine to that folder window, and it's THERE instantly. Never fails. If I try to move or copy a file or folder to another member of the LAN and it doesn't show up in the Copy To/Move To dialog, I just shortcut to the missing PC and drag. Easy-peasy.

I remember from my tests that Routers, Printers or any other non-Win devices were only shown under Network if they by themselves had IPv6 enabled. Since I don´t want them to appear in the list, I disabled IPv6 in their respective web interfaces and poof they are gone - one thing less to worry about.

However that would't explain why they appear and disappear on your PC within a day.
