It's about having the possibility to choose, then you don't necessarily have to do something about it.

Sometimes, on my 8GB machine, having 1GB more free RAM would help instead of being forced to leave it to some unknown stuff running in Windows (and no, that RAM is not freed upon need). Software is debatable, hardware unfortunately is not

You already have that possibility, as anyone who is experiencing trouble with the SysMain service can choose to disable it, which is pretty easy to do. But my point was that most people don't experience any trouble with it despite frequent claims to the contrary (from people who think they know better, when the reality is that─more often than not─they quite simply do NOT know better... that's just another prime example of how the modern internet works...).

What makes you think that? I mean, I have yet to witness the problem of memory starvation occurring in such a way that SysMain is the actual culprit. Not that I refuse to believe that there can be a variety of problems resulting from SysMain. Just that memory starvation never was among those problems, as far as I have been able to detect in person, and, what other problems may still occur from it are rare. Even so, you do have the possibility to choose like I said. So, I am not sure I understand why you would complain about that? Troubleshoot your problem with SysMain, and, stop trying to convince others that they have a problem with SysMain, when all the evidence suggests that they most likely do not have any such problem (albeit, naturally and of course, it is still possible for them to keep IMAGINING that that's what they have...).

It is possible to bring down the service count to 44. Some senerios you need to when you running video conversion with Handbrake or Tractor Dj software it really matters if you running 130 or 44 services. I know its overkill i disabled schedule eventlog firewall even defender with some workarounds. Its not for you if you want to run windows store apps or want to use windows shares.
There is a possibility to go more hardcore and disable more services but then you need to run a different taskbar or even a shell like
Rectos old explorer.
