Hi,
I have 2 PC's to build for my nephews for xmas.

I have got one built and installed windows 11
I signed in as the parents Microsoft account.
now im not really sure what to do with the parental/child settings

1. I want to have the child able to log in ( I can work this out)

2. I would like the parent microsoft account hidden if possible so the login screen only shows the child account.

3. With installing programs and games do I have to do it with each child (i.e. log in as that child and install everything) or can I install everything on one user for all users?

4. I would like to fully setup one pc and then clone the hdd for the other child pc. I'm hoping I can clone it and then just change the product key for the other pc? (pc's are exactly the same)

Much thanks.
It was a lot simpler in the XP days!

you want to hide it from the log on screen, or you want to remove it completely ?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
create new dword name it same as the username and value 0

change value to 1 makes it show again.

Hiding user FatherChristmas from logon screen:
If the key is not already there
rt click winlogon and create new key called SpecialAccounts
rt click SpecialAccounts and create new key called Userlist
click the empty space on the right of UserList and create new dword (32bit)
name it FatherChristmas

Preferably just hide it as if something needs installing does the kids accounts have access to be able to do it?
If I don't need it then removing it would be fine just don't know how that would work with the child accounts etc.

Also if I wanted to clone it am I able to do it because I feel like tpm2 is going to cause issues...?

Yes I saw just replying to why to see what the better option would be.

I wanted to clone the hard drive for the other nephew's pc but doesn't that lock out the hard drive of its not in the same pc? When I enabled it to install Windows 11 it said this (attached) which I assume if the cloned hdd is in another mother board or won't work?

Ok so I hid the other account.
Now when trying to do anything that needs admin privileges I can't do them.
It just pops up with
"To continue, enter an administrator username and password"
But only shows a "no" option.

Can't seem to re enable the hidden account either as I need admin privileges.

Can't boot into safe mode as I need admin privileges....

Any ideas on how to get admin privileges back again?

And I guess going back to my original question.

How do I set this computer up for the kid without admin or showing the parents user but so is actually usable...
